Homemade Pizzas and Movie Night is what’s on the menu. Tonight my main man and I are having some wonderful friends, aka Stephenie and Jr., over to watch a movie and enjoy some veg time.  Our kids have totally abandoned us and gone snow skiing (can you tell I am a tad jealous).

Not really they are having a blast with our high school and college group from church.  What an amazing group of kids!!!  OK – Back to the Pizza

Homemade pizzas really make a difference. They are heavenly tasty ooey gooey rounds of greatness.

For the Pizza I must say I did cheat a little – Publix provides wonderful pizza dough in the bakery.  After working I decided I would pick this up instead of trying to make it. Tonight’s choices are Pepperoni Pizza and Steak Alfredo Pizza.

For the Pepperoni I got a good quality jar sauce, but I did get fresh sliced Pepperoni and I shredded Mozzarella and Provolone Cheese. Then toss it with Garlic Powder and brush the crust with Olive Oil.

For the Steak season with garlic salt. Heat an iron skillet on med high then add two dollops of butter.  Then sear two New York Strips (or whatever you like, I had the strips) in skillet. Put them in a 400° oven for about 5 minutes.  Just keep a watch and cook to your liking.  I kept it just under medium because it will cook more when you bake pizza.

For my Alfredo Sauce I melt a stick of butter in pan (minus the two dollops I used for the steak, add grated Parmesan Cheese and whisk, then add Heavy Cream, one large clove garlic and whisk.  I let it cook about 5 minutes.

Then spread the Alfredo on top of one and the jar sauce on the other pizza dough, cover each with half of each shredded provolone and mozzarella cheese, top one with steak, the other with pepperoni and both a little garlic.  Brush the crust with Olive Oil and a little garlic.

Bake them for 15 to 18 or so minutes at 400°.  This will vary on thickness of dough and your oven.  You can also get creative with your toppings.

My friend Stephenie brought a favorite Greek Salad over from a local restaurant and it is a perfect pairing with the Pizza.
