Ingredients

  • 4 cups pecan pieces
  • 1 tsp coarse sea salt
  • 2 lbs almond bark
  • 1 12 ounce package semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 ounces German chocolate bar
  • 1 to 2 packages Rolo's Buy 1 or 2 enough to have 1 each for the size candies you make
  • sprinkles chopped nuts, mini chips, chocolate or white chocolate drizzled - optional toppings

Instructions

  • Place pecans in the bottom of the 4 to 4.5 quart Crock Pot. Sprinkle salt on top.
  • Break or cut almond bark into piece and place on top.
  • Sprinkle in chocolate chips and break up German chocolate bars and place ion top.
  • Cover with a clean kitchen towel and put on lid.
  • Cook on low for 1 hour without stirring. Remove lid being careful not to let water drip in pot. This will seize up the chocolate. Continue cooking for 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes until chocolate is melted. Stir until completely combined.
  • Place wax paper on a cookie sheet or use cupcake or mini cupcake papers, depending on the size you want.
  • Place a rolo on wax paper or in a cupcake paper. Cover with warm chocolate and nut mixture.
  • Add sprinkles or toppings if desired. If adding sprinkles or toppings, do about 8 at a time and then top. This will allow the toppings to stick to the chocolate before it sets.
  • Let cool on counter or the refrigerator until set.

Notes

The nuts will become toasted by placing the on the bottom of the crock pot. If you prefer them to not have a toasted flavor. Melt chocolate and add in nuts at the end.
I usually leave on the counter for 1 to 2 hours to completely cool and set. This will depend on the temperature and humidity in the house.
