Ingredients

  • 6-8 strips bacon cooked
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon white granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar (or white vinegar)
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup red onion finely chopped
  • 16 ounce frozen petite peas thawed

Instructions

Cook Bacon

  • Place the pre-cooked bacon in the air fryer. Cook at 350° F. for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown and crumbly. Remove from the air fryer and place on paper towels or a clean kitchen towel. Cut or pull apart to make the crumbles. Set aside. Reserve a tablespoon to top the salad. You can also cook in the microwave or on the stovetop.

Prepare Pea Salad

  • In a large bowl add the sour cream, mayonnaise, white granulated sugar, white wine vinegar, coarse kosher salt, and black pepper. Mix until combined.
  • Add the crumbled bacon (reserving 1 tablespoon for the top), cheddar cheese, and red onion. Mix until combined.
  • Next, add the peas and gently mix with a spatula or spoon until all the ingredients are combined.
  • Top with the reserved bacon crumbles and enjoy.

Notes

  • Thawed Frozen Peas– You don’t need to cook the sweet peas for this recipe. Place them in the fridge the night before you make the salad, or defrost them in the microwave the day of. You can also run cold water over the frozen peas until they thaw.
  • Make-Ahead Dressing– If preferred, save some time by making the pea salad dressing the night before and adding it to the recipe the following day.
  • Cooking the Bacon– You can cook the crispy bacon in the microwave or stovetop.
