There is no way the Grinch can steal your Christmas spirit when you serve this Grinch Punch Recipe! It is a classic and creamy lime sherbet punch recipe with Hawaiian punch and rimmed with red sugar, perfect for your Holiday who-be what-ee.

And the Grinch may be “mean and hairy and smelly, and his hands are cold and clammy, but I think he’s kinda… sweet.” Don’t you? He is everyone’s favorite holiday villain.

Ingredients

  • Lime Sherbet | Sherbet adds a green color and a frothy creamy good base for the punch.
  • Sprite or Soda | Pick your favorite lemon-lime soda for this recipe.
  • Hawaiian Punch Green Berry Rush | Fruity good, you can’t make a yummy Grinch punch without green Hawaiian punch, can you?
  • Red Sanding Sugar | Sugar crystals are used to make the red sugar rim on the glasses for this yummy Christmas beverage.
  • Maraschino Cherries | Maraschino cherries add another pop of red color for added holiday cheer.
  • Corn Syrup | Corn Sugar is the glue that holds the sugar to the rim of the glass.
  • Vodka | Spike the punch with your favorite vodka for the adult version of this green punch recipe.

Variations and Substitutions

  • Garnishes- Use whatever color sanding sugar you would like, then add a straw or stir stick to match!
  • Soda- Try using ginger ale for a spicier version of the festive drink.
  • Boozy Beverage- I used Vodka for this recipe, but you can use any white alcohol you like best. Try Tequila Blanco, White Rum, or Gin.

How To Make Christmas Grinch Punch

Your Christmas Party will be joyful and triumphant when you present a punch bowl full of this Christmas Grinch Punch Recipe. After all, “No one should be alone on Christmas.”

Step 1 | Scoop the Sherbet

Take out a pretty punch bowl and ladle for your next holiday party. Then start making some family favorites starting with this delicious punch. With your ice cream scoop, scoop the entire quart of lime sherbet into the large punch bowl.

Step 2 | Pour on the Liquids

Next, pour a 2-liter bottle of your favorite lemon-lime soda like Sprite or 7-Up over the sherbet. Then add in the measured amounts of Hawaiian punch and Vodka, if you‘d like.

Step 3| Rim the Glasses

When serving this Grinch punch, pour a bit of Sprite or corn syrup into a small saucer. Then, in another saucer, pour in some red sanding sugar.

Dip the rim of the glasses into the Sprite or corn syrup, then in the red sugar crystals.

Step 4 | Garnish and Serve

Ladle in the punch into the red-rimmed glasses and top the frothy green beverage with a plump red maraschino cherry and a pinch of red sugar.

Tips

  • Not green enough? Add a few drops of green food color to the beverage.
  • Be sure to use white alcohol for the cocktail version to keep the color bright green.
  • To make ahead, mix the liquids and add the sherbet when ready to pour into the punch bowl and serve.

What if the store is out of Lime sherbet?

If the grocery store is out, then you can use the rainbow variety or a lemon sherbet with a drop or two of green food coloring.

Can I batch this punch recipe?

Of course, you can double the party punch recipe and put it in pitchers to refill the punch bowl. Just mix all the ingredients without the sherbet, then add sherbert and the liquids as the punch bowl gets low.

Do you have to use Hawaiian Punch?

You can choose Lemon-lime Kool-Aid if there is no green punch at your store.

Storage

Storage: Cover with plastic wrap or place in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for 3 days without the sherbet.

Ingredients 

Family Friendly

  • 1 quart lime sherbert
  • 2 liters Sprite or Lemon Lime Soda
  • 4 cups Hawaiian Punch Green Berry Rush
  • red sanding sugar , for garnish
  • Maraschino cherries, for topping
  • corn syrup for rims of glasses, optional

Boozy Version

  • 1 quart lime sherbet
  • 6 cups sprite
  • 4 cups Hawaiian Punch Green Berry Rush
  • 2 cups vodka
  • Maraschino cherries, for garnish
  • corn syrup for the rims of your glasses, optional

Instructions

  • Scoop lime sherbet into a large punch bowl. Pour Sprite over the top of the sherbet, then add in the Hawaiian punch and vodka (if using).
  • For serving, pour a bit of Sprite or, you can use corn syrup into a small saucer. In another saucer, add a layer of the red sanding sugar. Dip your glass into the Sprite or corn syrup, then into the sugar crystals. Ladle in the punch into the glass, and top with a maraschino cherry.
