Hello, foodies! Welcome to the very first Soulfully Made Monthly Cooking Club Challenge! This month’s challenge recipe is my Strawberry Praline Pecan Salad– the perfect summer salad!

Here at Soulfully Made, we believe that the best dishes are those shared with loved ones, full of laughter, stories, and the joy of togetherness. This cooking club is more than just a challenge; it’s a celebration of community and the beautiful moments we create around the table.

I love the sense of community that comes from so many people cooking one recipe each month. We’re kicking off our June challenge today with our Strawberry Pecan Salad with Sweet Vinaigrette (Old Town Pizzeria Copycat), and I hope you’ll join in the fun. Here’s how it works:


  1. The JUNE cooking club challenge recipe is a Fresh Strawberry Salad with Pecans and Honey Vinaigrette.
  2. Make that recipe during the month of June 2024. Then, return to the recipe post to leave a comment- the deadline is June 30th, 2024, 11:59 pm Eastern Time.
  3. For a bonus entry, send a picture of what you made to [email protected] and note “cooking club challenge” in the subject line.
  4. For another bonus entry, post your recipe photo on Instagram, tagging @soulfullymade_ and #soulfullymadecookingclub.
  5. Sign up for our email list so you’ll know as soon as I share each month’s recipe.

June Cooking Club Recipe: Summer Strawberry Salad

This month, we’re making a super simple summer strawberry salad. Summer is all about light, flavorful, simple dishes.

  • This salad recipe is the perfect meatless meal, or you can add your favorite protein on top to make it a complete meal on its own. Rotisserie chicken or leftover chicken are busy weeknight lifesavers!
  • It makes a wonderful side dish to complement your favorite BBQ, like our oven-baked chicken drumsticks, BBQ Beef Brisket, or when you are grilling your favorite burgers this summer.
  • This salad was inspired by a local restaurant’s favorite called Old Town Pizzeria, and I think I really nailed the dressing (it’s all about the salad dressing). When you get their lunch special, it is served with dinner rolls. So make a batch of ours and top them with some melted butter, parmesan cheese, and minced garlic. Heavenly!!
  • The first time you make this, I recommend sticking to the original because although the combination is simple, it really is delicious. And don’t skimp on the toppings – you can adjust a little if you like a little more or less cheese, strawberries, or candied pecans!
