Let’s start making something sweet y’all!

Ingredient Notes

  • Little Debbie Valentine’s Cakes – This recipe calls for 1 box. I usually hold out 1 for garnish, but you can use them all and top with a strawberry or something festive.
  • Cream Cheese – This gives the dip that cheesecake flavor that makes it extra yummy! A block works well. If you are in a big hurry buy a 16 ounce whipped tub and you don’t have to whip it up yourself.
  • Milk – Helps to combine the cake into the cream cheese and adds more creaminess.
  • Vanilla Extract – This really enhances the flavor but if you don’t have any this is delicious without it as well.
  • Frozen Whipped Topping (Cool Whip) – I use extra creamy or regular. Grab them on sale and keep them in your freezer.
  • Valentine’s Sprinkles – Add s festive color and more fun to the dip.

Next, add in snack cakes and mix them until combined and cakes are broken down into desired consistency.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this for a large gathering?

Yes. This makes around 4 cups so it’s perfect for snaking for a normal-sized crowd. This can easily be halved for just a few or double for a larger group.

Variations and Substitutions:

  • Add a little crunch by stirring a few sprinkles into the dip.
  • Use another flavor Little Debbie Cake – Zebra, Fancy Cakes, Birthday, Unicorn, or any other season cakes will work all year round!
  • Change up cakes and colors for different seasons.

What to serve with a Valentine’s Dip?

  • Pretzels – Sticks, rods, twists, or snaps. Any of them work!
  • Graham Crackers – Honey, chocolate, cinnamon. The little bears are cute too.
  • Vanilla Wafers – The regular or minis go great for dipping.
  • Cookies – The Valentine’s X & O’s animal crackers are sweet. Chocolate wafer cookies, sugar wafers or Pirouette filled cookies all are beautiful on a tray.
  • Fresh fruit like strawberries, grapes, and sliced apples

Storage and Make-Ahead Tips:

Because of the cream cheese and whipped topping, this needs to be stored in the refrigerator.

Make-Ahead:

When making ahead, wait until serving to add sprinkles and garnish to the top. If you add them too early they tend to run and the dip may not look as pretty. Also, I would recommend making no more than 1 day ahead for the best tasting results.

Storage:

Cover with foil or plastic wrap or place in an air-tight container and store in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.

Freezing:

I don’t recommend freezing this as it will change the texture.
